Data we collect

  • Account and authentication data, such as email address, Firebase user ID, authentication provider, and sign-in metadata from Apple, Google, or email-link sign-in.
  • Profile data, such as username, profile image, country, timezone, preferences, account status, and profile statistics.
  • Product data you create or manage, such as wishlist entries, save files, gameplay sessions, playtime, session notes, completion state, and game or event notification subscriptions.
  • Device and push notification data, such as a stable device identifier, FCM/APNs token, operating system and app version, build number, locale, timezone, device model, manufacturer, environment, app channel, and notification permission state.
  • Usage, diagnostics, and reliability data collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics in production builds.
  • Search, public game page, and request data needed to return game pages, search results, platform/store information, App Check validation, and server logs.
  • Local-only data stored on your device, such as recent search history or pending email-link state, when the app uses it to provide a feature.

How we use data

  • Create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your LevelApp account.
  • Provide profile, wishlist, save-file, gameplay-session, game-detail, event, search, and notification features.
  • Send requested push notifications about tracked game releases and events.
  • Operate public web game pages and app/deep-link support.
  • Detect, prevent, investigate, and fix errors, abuse, fraud, service misuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
  • Understand high-level product usage and reliability in production so we can improve LevelApp.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Legal bases for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

  • Contract: to provide the LevelApp service and the features you request.
  • Consent: where required, such as push notification permission or optional platform permissions.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, debug, maintain, improve, and protect LevelApp, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose limited information to comply with applicable law.

No ads, sale, or advertising tracking

LevelApp is free at launch and does not currently sell personal data, show ads, or track you across apps and websites for third-party advertising.

Service providers and third parties

  • Firebase and Google services, including Firebase Auth, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Storage, Messaging, App Check, Analytics, Crashlytics, and App Hosting.
  • Apple services, including Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, and Apple Push Notification service.
  • Google Sign-In when you choose to sign in with Google.
  • IGDB/Twitch, Steam, IsThereAnyDeal, and Instant Gaming for game, event, review, platform, store, and offer data. These integrations are primarily used for game-related information rather than user account data.
  • OpenAI, where applicable, for generating summaries from game review content. We do not intentionally send your account profile or save-file data to OpenAI for this purpose.
  • Authorities, courts, professional advisers, or service providers where required to comply with law, protect rights, or operate the service.

International transfers

LevelApp is available globally and uses service providers that may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards provided by those providers, such as standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and product data while your account remains active or while needed to provide the service, secure the service, comply with law, or resolve disputes.

When you delete your account, LevelApp immediately deletes the account and product data under our control, including profile, username mappings, notification subscriptions, save files, gameplay sessions, wishlist data, and profile-image artifacts. Residual technical logs, backups, security records, provider records, or analytics/diagnostic data may continue to exist for limited periods according to security, legal, and provider retention cycles.

Pending profile-image upload records are short-lived. Used upload records may be retained briefly for cleanup and security checks.

Children

LevelApp is not intended for children under 13. If you are at least 13 but below the age required by your local law to consent to digital services, you must use LevelApp with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to LevelApp, contact privacy@levelapp.gg so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
